What to do if you clicked a suspicious link

Clicking a bad link happens to everyone. Acting quickly greatly limits the damage. Follow these steps immediately.

Do this right away

  1. Do not enter any more information on the page. Close the browser tab.
  2. If you entered your password, change it immediately from a different, trusted device if possible.
  3. If a file downloaded or opened, disconnect the computer from Wi-Fi or unplug the network cable, but do not turn it off.
  4. Call us at (626) 412-8113 and tell us exactly what you clicked and what you entered.
  5. If you shared banking or card information, contact your bank as well.

What we will do

  • Check your account for suspicious sign-ins and mailbox rules
  • Reset passwords and sign you out of all sessions if needed
  • Scan your device for malware
  • Check whether the same email reached other people in your company

You will never be in trouble for reporting a mistake. Reporting quickly is the most helpful thing you can do.
